Brad T - 27/8/01
Elimination Final:
Logan Brothers v Souths: 10.15am Sun Sep 2 at Pinklands Oval

Head to Head:
Round 4 at Souths:   Logan Brothers 44 def Souths 14
Round 11 at Logan:  Logan Brothers 52 def Souths 18
Round 18 at Logan:  Logan Brothers 42 def Souths 32

Last 3 games:
Logan Bros: lost 20-24 (Redlands), won 60-16 (Wynnum); won 44-4 (Aspley)
Souths: drew 24-24 (Redcliffe); won 42-16 (Spirit); lost 20-34 (Arana)

Logan Brothers have won all three games against the Magpies this year, although they trailed at half-time in the Round 18 encounter. Souths had a disastrous start to the year, winning only 1 of their first 7 games, but they have improved dramatically since then. They can be a hot and cold team and tend to put on points in spurts - Mase and Ashley in particular will have to on their game all day to meet the challenge of the big Logan forward pack. Both teams will go in confident following their performances against the top 2 teams in Round 21.

Qualifying Final:
Redcliffe v Arana: 1.45pm Sun Sep 2 at Deception Bay

Head to Head:
Round 3 at Redcliffe: Redcliffe 44 def Arana 10
Round 10 at Arana: Redcliffe 32 def Arana 8
Round 17 at Redcliffe:  Redcliffe 28 def Arana 10

Last 3 games:
Redcliffe: drew 24-24 (Souths), won 36-22 (Redlands); won 32-12 (Spirit)
Arana: won 76-0 (Wynnum); won 38-10 (Aspley); won 34-20 (Souths)

Arana goes into the semis with the best record in the last 4 games having won all four, although only one of those was against a finals contender.  Redcliffe's last loss was back in June (against Redlands) although they have had 2 draws (both against Souths) since that time. Redcliffe have proved to be Arana's bogey team this year and Arana will have to muscle up particularly in the forwards if they are to competitive. This game is to be played at the site of the U12 Jnr North Grand Final, and Arana will be keen to extract some revenge for their defeat by the 'fins in last year's decider.
