Finals time has arrived in the BJRL U13JA1 comp, and five teams remain to fight out them out, with Holy Spirit, Aspley and Wynnum the teams to miss out.
As we go into the finals, let's look at how each of the teams have performed in the 12 games they played against the other finalists (not including Chairman's Trophy).
TEAM P W D L For Agst Pts
Redlands 12 10 0 2 378 210 20
Redcliffe 12 8 2 2 353 192 18
Arana 12 5 1 6 258 290 11
Logan Bros.12 3 1 8 256 311 7
Souths 12 1 2 9 218 460 4
Redlands: Their 2 losses were against Arana, in the very first game of the year and Redcliffe in Round 20. They have swept Logan Bros and Souths, although the win against Logan Bros. in Round 21 was a skinny one.
Redcliffe: Redcliffe won all 3 clashes against both Arana and Logan Bros, and the first round clash with Souths. They only managed one win from four (including the Chairman's Trophy) against Redlands and were held to 2 draws by Souths in Rounds 14 and 21.
Arana: Arana did not manage three wins against any of the finalists, although they did manage two wins and a draw against Logan Bros. They also beat Souths twice and Redlands once. Redcliffe have been Arana's nemesis with the 'fins winning all three clashes comfortably.
Logan Bros.: Somewhat surprisingly Logan have not managed a win all year against any of the top three teams, the closest they got being a draw with Arana in round 9. They did however sweep Souths, their opponents in the elimination semi.
Souths: Souths have managed only 1 win against the final contenders, that being against Arana in round 12. Their last 2 clashes with Redcliffe have resulted in draws after Redcliffe won the Round 7 encounter. They have lost all 3 games against Redlands and Logan Bros.
The above would indicate that Redlands and Redcliffe are certainly the teams to beat, but more recent results indicate that any team has the capability of causing an upset on any day.
