2004 BJRL U16A Semi Finals Preview
Note for Previous Years' performances I have used Redlands for Springwood.

The semis have arrived, and nothing between the four teams in contention - should be a great end to the season!
MAJOR SEMI:
NORTHS (1st) v SPRINGWOOD (2nd): Sunday Sept 5 1.00pm at Centenary
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Norths: Steady at 5/2 ($3.50); Springwood: Steady at 5/2 ($3.50)
This Year: Rd 1: Nths 40 def S'wood 16; Rd 8: Nths 23 def S'wood 22; Rd 15: Nths 24 def S'wood 16
Head to Head 2001/4: Norths 3 Redlands/Springwood 2
Last 3 Games: Norths: Souths W 36-8; Centenary W 54-26; Logan Bros D 18-18
                       Springwood: Centenary W 36-18; Logan Bros W 30-4; Arana W 54-20
This should be a great game to open the finals. Springwood have not beaten Norths this year but seem to be striking form at the right end of the season. Some of the Norths players will have played for Wavell in Townsville the night before and this could be telling in what should be a fast match, although a coolish day is forecast. Springwood's finals experience may be the telling factor. Both teams have the advantage of living to fight next week even if they do lose of course.

KNOCKOUT SEMI:
REDCLIFFE (3rd) v LOGAN BROS (4th): Sunday Sept 5 1.45pm at Dawson Pde
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Redcliffe: Steady at 5/2 ($3.50); Logan Bros: Steady at 3/1 ($4.00)
This Year: Rd 1: R'cliffe 24 def L.B. 20; Rd 8: L.B. 36 def R'cliffe 0; Rd 15: R'cliffe 34 def L.B. 18
Head to Head 2001/4: Redcliffe 7 Logan Bros 5
Last 3 Games:  Redcliffe: Arana W 26-10; Springwood L 16-30; Norths L 10-12
                       Logan Bros: Springwood L 4-30; Norths D 18-18; Souths W 46-12
Neither of these teams have played much football lately, having received a number of forfeits so will go into this match a little underdone. Redcliffe have a good record at Dawson Pde and are advantaged by having had a good hit-out there last week against Arana. In contrast, Logan had last week off due to a forfeit, after a firgettable performance against Springwood the week before. Sudden death football in this one, and it should be a ripper.
