Another interesting round coming up as the battle heats up for spots in the Chairman's Trophy at the end of Round 1 - only 2 games left now!!

EASTS (7th) v ARANA (3rd): Monday April 26 1.45pm at Scott Park

              Arana: Springwood L 18-20; Norths L 8-22; Centenary W 12-10

A danger game for Arana who will again be below full strength. Easts proved tough opposition in a trial earlier in the year and will be keen to eack up their first win over Arana. Arana have lost 2 in a row and will definitely not want to make it three with a Chairman's Trophy spot still possible.

REDCLIFFE (4th) v SOUTHS (8th): Monday April 26 11.15am at Dolphin Oval

Last 3 Games:  Redcliffe: Easts W 34-6; Springwood W 16-12; Norths L 26-30

                Souths: Centenary L 14-34; Easts L 6-32; Logan Bros L 10-48

Redcliffe eliminated Souths from the finals last year, after Souths had beaten them in week 1 of the finals. Souths put in a solid showing at home against Centenary last week,  but have not travelled well this year and it is hard to see them troubling the Dolphins in this one, despite their good record against the Peninsula team.

SPRINGWOOD (5th) v LOGAN BROS (6th): Monday April 26 11.30am at Tallowood Park

PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Springwood: Steady at  7/2 ($4.50); Logan Bros: Steady at 3/1 ($4.00)

               Logan Bros: Norths W 26-23; Centenary D 20-20; Souths W 48-10

The Grand Final rematch arrives, and it is quite unbelievable that these two teams are running 5th and 6th at the moment!!! Logan Bros started poorly but have started to find some form, whilst Springwood have been a little hot and cold, and will be looking to string 2 wins together for the first time this season. Should be an enthralling match.

Top of the table clash with the winner going a long way towards booking a spot in the Chairman's Trophy. Norths went down in the last minute to Logan Bros last week and will want to return to the winner's list whilst Centenary have crept up the table under new coach Ivan Henjak, having only lost once, narrowly to Arana at Dawson Pde. Hard to pick a winner in this one - could very well go down to the last minute, with a Jacon or Tim field goal to decide it!
