2004 BJRL U16A Round 4 Preview
Note for "Head-to-Head" performances I have used Redlands for Springwood.
Premiership odds movements are listed below the game title.

I wish I could split myself in 3 on Friday night, because there will be three sensational games on, followed up on Sunday by the opportunity for one of Easts and Souths to open their account for the season. "THE COMPUTER" has just about seized trying to tip this weekend's results - how about 4 draws!!!
NORTHS v ARANA: Friday  April 2 8.30pm at Bishop Park
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Norths: Steady at 4/1 ($5.00); Arana: 3/1 ($4.00) in from 13/4 ($4.25)
Last Encounter: 2003 Round 13: Arana 28 def Norths 12
Head to Head 2001/3: Arana 2 Norths 0
Last 3 Games:  Norths: Redcliffe W 30-26; Easts W 44-24; Springwood  W 40-16
               Arana: Centenary W 12-10; Logan Bros W 30-10; Souths W 44-10
Top of the table clash to open the weekend, but very hard to get a real feel of how these two teams are travelling relative to each other as Arana have played three different teams from Norths in the competition rounds to date. Arana will again be affected by injury and unavailability but they proved this was of little consequence against Centenary last weekend, and will not be using this as an excuse. Norths have clearly improved from last year and will be wanting to prove their three wins to date have not been flukes. Should be a great match.

CENTENARY v LOGAN BROS: Friday April 2 8.30pm at Cent Highway Reserve
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Centenary: Steady at 4/1 ($5.00); Logan Bros: Steady at 5/2 ($3.50)
Last Encounter: 2003 Round 14: Logan Bros 52 def Centenary 10
Head to Head 2001/3: Logan Bros 4 Centenary 2
Last 3 Games:  Centenary: Arana L 10-12; Redcliffe W 24-23; Easts W 10-4
                Logan Bros: Redcliffe L 20-24; Arana L 10-44; Souths W 48-10
Logan Bros finally found some form on Sunday to demolish Souths after two disappointing losses to open the season. Centenary have played three tight matches, winning 2 and just going down to Arana last week. This shapes as a great clash with the sides looking very even on paper. Tim Mc's kicking game may be critical in keeping the big Logan forwards on the back foot, and the clash of the halves should be very entertaining. Home ground advantage may be enough to get the Panthers home.

SPRINGWOOD v REDCLIFFE: Friday April 2 8.30pm at Tallowood Park
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Springwood: Steady at  7/2 ($4.50); Redcliffe: Steady at 5/1 ($6.00)
Last Encounter: 2003 Round 17: Redlands 28 def Redcliffe 12
Head to Head 2001/3: Redlands 9 Redcliffe 1 Drawn 1
Last 3 Games: Springwood: Easts W 50-6; Souths W 32-28; Norths L16-40
               Redcliffe: Norths L 26-30; Centenary L 22-23; Logan Bros W 24-20
Another great game to round out the friday night fixtures with the "heart attack" (just ask Trigger) kids travelling to Tallowood park to take on a Springwood team which finally started to show its potential last Sunday when they hammered Easts. This will be a much sterner test for the Tigers however with the Redcliffe team showing a deal of improvement from last year despite 2 narrow losses in their last two outings. Once again home ground advantage may just tip the scales in Springwood's favour, but a Dolphin victory would not surprise.

EASTS v SOUTHS: Sunday April 4 12.30pm at Scott Park
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Easts: 20/1 ($21.00) out from 15/1 ($16.00); Souths: Steady at 33/1 ($34.00)
Last Encounter: 2003 Round 13: Souths 32 def Easts 4
Head to Head 2001/3: Souths 5 Easts 0
Last 3 Games: Easts: Springwood L 6-50; Norths L 24-44; Centenary L 4-10
                       Souths: Logan Bros L 10-48; Springwood L 28-32; Arana L 10-44
Both these teams will be keen to open their points tally for the season, with both having copped hidings last weekend after promising starts to the season. Whilst Souths are generally tough at Brandon Park they often struggle on the road and the Tigers will see this as a real opportunity fo notch up their first win over the Magpies, having lost their previous five encounters. Should be a tough tussle.
