2004 BJRL U16A Round 13 Preview
Note for "Head-to-Head" performances I have used Redlands for Springwood.
Premiership odds movements are listed below the game title.

It seems like an age since we played any football, but for most teams 2 games in 4 days before the long holiday break. Some critical games in this round which is being played before Round 12.
ARANA (5th) v EASTS (7th): Sunday June 20 11.15am at Dawson Pde
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Arana: 6/1 ($7.00) out from 5/1 ($6.00); Easts: Steady at 20/1($21.00)
Last Encounter: 2004 Round 6: Easts 21 def Arana 14
Head to Head 2001/4: Arana 5 Easts 1
Last 3 Games:  Arana: Norths L 22-34; Centenary W 26-10; Logan Bros W 24-22
              Easts: Souths W 20-18; Springwood L 0-42; Norths L 22-28
Arana wll be desperate to atone for their earlier loss to the Tigers this year in this game. The Panthers started poorly against Norths to trail by 24-0 in their last start and cannot afford a similar opening against the tenacious Tigers. Easts were last start winners over Souths and also pushed Norths all the way so this should be a tight battle.
"The Computer" tips Arana by 8.

SOUTHS (8th) v REDCLIFFE (3rd): Sunday June 20 10.45am at Brandon Park
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Souths: Steady at 33/1 ($34.00); Redcliffe: Steady at 4/1 ($5.00)
Last Encounter: 2004 Round 6: Redcliffe 44 def Souths 4
Head to Head 2001/4: Souths 5 Redcliffe 3 Drawn 3
Last 3 Games:  Souths: Easts L 18-20; Logan Bros L 20-36; Springwood L 18-58
                Redcliffe: Norths L 10-24 (CT); Springwood L 14-16; Norths W 28-18
Souths went desperately close to their first win of the season against Easts last start and have a good record against Redcliffe at home so will not be pushovers. Redcliffe have lost at their last two starts, including the Chairman's Trophy and will be keen not to drop a game against the Magpies given the closeness of the competition table.
"The Computer" tips Redcliffe by 12.

CENTENARY (6th) v NORTHS (1st): Sunday June 20 11.00am at Cent Highway Reserve
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Centenary: 8/1 ($9.00) out from 11/2 ($6.50); Norths: 5/2 ($3.50) in from 3/1 ($4.00)
Last Encounter: 2004 Round 6: Norths 18 def Centenary 16
Head to Head 2001/4: Norths 2 Centenary 1
Last 3 Games:  Centenary: Logan Bros L 6-42; Arana L 10-26; Redcliffe L 18-24
                       Norths: Redcliffe W 24-10 (CT); Arana W 34-22; Redcliffe L 18-28
What a difference to the last time these two teams met - at that stage it was a "top-of-the-table" clash with Norths just scraping home 18-16. Since then Norths have powered on maintaining first position whilst Centenary have stumbled, now 5 points out of the top four. For Centenary to have a chance to make the semis they will have to win games like this one, especially at home.
"The Computer" tips Norths by 10.

LOGAN BROS (4th) v SPRINGWOOD (2nd): Sunday June 20 12.00noon at Civic Park
PREMIERSHIP ODDS: Logan Bros: Steady at  3/1 ($4.00); Springwood: 11/4 ($3.75) in from 3/1 ($4.00)
Last Encounter: 2004 Round 6: Springwood 24 def Logan Bros 22
Head to Head 2001/4: Redlands/Springwood 9 Logan Bros 3
Last 3 Games: Logan Bros: Centenary W 42-6; Souths W 36-20; Arana L 22-24
               Springwood: Redcliffe W 16-14; Easts W 42-0; Souths W 58-18
This should be the game of the round, and if their slash in round 6 is any indication there will not be much in it. Both sides have several players unavailable and how their replacement step up will be critical. Both teams face tough encounters on Wednesday night (Logan v Norths and Springwood v Arana) so will be keen to get a win here to take a little of the pressure off given the closeness of the competition. Home ground advantage could be the decider.
"The Computer" tips Logan Bros by 2.
