Please note I would always be happy to receive detailed game reports from people from the other teams, and will add to the wrap each week if you email them to me at oz_bat@hotmail.com
NOTE: This round was played over a number of weeks - The reports will be added as the games are played. The first two games of this round were played on Wednesday June 23; Easts v Redcliffe at Scott Park and Springwood v Arana at Tallowood Park.

Easts hosted Redcliffe at Scott Park and were expected to give the Dolphins a real run for there money. The visitors confronted the challenge well and in a complete reversal of their first halff performance three days earlier against Souths, turned in a great first half to lead 18-0 at the break. The Tigers mounted a brief comeback early in the second stanza and got back within 12, but Redcliffe steadied and scored a further two tries to take their lead out to 28-6. A late converted try by Easts saw the final score 28-12 to the Dolphins, and moved them, at least temporarily to equal competition leaders.

A depleted Arana side travelled to Tallowood Park to take on a Springwood side smarting at their defeat by Logan Bros the previous Sunday. The early loss of inspirational forward Matt H did not help things, but 25 minutes into the match they were clinging to a 10-6 lead.  Their defence was clearly starting to tire however and the home side took advantage, running in two tries just before the break to take a 16-10 lead at halftime. The second half began disastrously for the visitors, with Springwood putting on a further three tries, during which time Arana only held the ball for 2 tackles. The visitors showed commendable spirit to hold Springwood scoreless for the last 10 minutes and were rewarded with a fine try to Alex F in the last minute, makingthe final score 44-14. This win moved Springwood into equal competition lead with Norths and Redcliffe, whilst Arana now have a big job in front of them tomake the four, with the next game against Redcliffe particularly critical. Thanks to Daniel Stein from the U15s for helping out Arana, and in a great performance he was equal top of the hit-ups. Also well done Brendan whose 30 tackles was within 1 of the team record.
