2003 BJRL U15A Round 6 Preview
EASTS (8th) v HOLY SPIRIT (9th): Friday April 25 7.15pm at Scott Park
Last Encounter: none
Head to Head 2001/2: none
Last 3 Games: Easts: Centenary L 4-26; Redcliffe L 16-20; Logan Bros L 12-38
                       Holy Spirit:  Logan Bros L 10-24; Arana L 0-44; Norths W 18-16
An interesting encounter to open the round, with both teams thinking this will be a game they can win. Very difficult to separate the two teams, as both have onlt had one win this season, coincidentally each of them by two points over Norths. Holy Spirit demonstrated some real ticker in their last outing to match Logan Bros in the second half, whilst the Tigers had a disappointing outing against Centenary. A draw would not surprise, but the home ground advantage may just favour the tigers.

ARANA (3rd) v SOUTHS (4th): Friday April 25 8.30pm at Dawson Pde
Last Encounter: 2002 Round 19: Arana 58 def Souths 16
Head to Head 2001/2: Arana 5 Souths 1
Last 3 Games: Arana: bye; Holy Spirit W 44-0; Centenary W 40-12; Easts W 54-0
                       Souths: Norths W 32-22; Redlands L 0-32; Redcliffe W 26-6
An important clash for these two teams if they wish to keep their Chairman's trophy hopes alive with both locked on 8 points, 2 behind Redlands and Logan Bros. Last time the Magpies ventured to Dawson Pde for a competition game they were hammered by an in-form Panthers outfit that racked up the most points ever against the Souths team. They were also defeated in a trial game there this season, although the teams have changed somewhat since then. Souths will be anxious to avoid another defeat but will have to play well to win at Arana where the Panthers have only lost 2 games in 2 years.

CENTENARY (6th) v REDCLIFFE (5th): Friday April 25 8.30pm at Ipswich Rd
Last Encounter: 2002 Round 23: Redcliffe 38 def Centenary 12
Head to Head 2001/2: Centenary 2 Redcliffe 1
Last 3 Games: Centenary: Easts W 26-4; Logan Bros L 14-24; Arana L 12-40
                       Redcliffe: Redlands L 20-24; Easts W 20-16; Souths L 6-26
This should be another close one, with both teams needing to win to stay in touch with the top 4. Both teams form has been patchy this year, although the Panthers returned to something like their best to beat Easts at their last start, whilst Redcliffe went close to overhauling Redlands in a great second half display. Again a draw would not surprise, although the home ground advantage may be enough for Centenary to sneak home.

NORTHS (7th) v REDLANDS (1st): Friday April 25 8.30pm at Bishop Pk
Last Encounter: none
Head to Head 2001/2: none
Last 3 Games: Norths: Souths L 22-32; bye; Holy Spirit L16-18; Centenary L 14-46
                      Redlands: Redcliffe W 24-20; Souths W 32-0; bye; Holy Spirit W 56-10
Norths showed against Souths they are getting closer to a win but were unable to hold on in the closing stages. This will be a more difficult task, but Redlands showed they are not unbeatable when they only just held on to beat a fast-finishing Redcliffe last outing. Will b a good gauge of how Norths have improved in their first year in the competition.
