2002 U14A Round 3 Wrap / Round 4 Preview
After Round 3, four teams remain undefeated - Centenary, Redcliffe, Souths and Arana - and have 6 points. Then come Redlands on 4, Easts on 2 and Logan Brothers, Slacks Creek, Holy Spirit and Brighton have yet to register a point.

On Friday night Souths proved far too strong for Holy Spirit chalking up a 64-10 victory, and despite being reduced to 12 men with an arm injury to Beau Batley,  Centenary (including 3 players up from the C's) still overpowered Brighton 74-0, with winger Wade scoring 7 tries and Tim Mc kicking 11 goals. Arana were delighted to sneak home against Redlands 15-14 as well - for a full report on this game, click here.

On Sunday, Easts managed 9 tries in a 40-24 victory over Slacks Creek with both Lachlan's picking up hat-tricks!! This would have been a very satisfying victory for the Tigers after their narrow defeat by the Dolphins last week. Speaking of the Dolphins, they continued Logan Brothers disappointing start to the season, defeating them 22-10 at Civic Park, after leading 22-6 at half-time. Logan Brothers threw everything at the depleted Dolphins side, but were unable to finish a number of promising attacking raids, and they now remain winless after 3 rounds.

Round 4 opens on Friday night with Redcliffe taking on Brighton at Dolphin Oval - it seems hard to predict anything but a comprehensive victory to the 'fins. Logan Bros should finally chalk up their first win of the season, against Slacks Creek at Usher Park, although they will not want to take them lightly, as they were able to score 24 points against the Tigers in Round 3. In the final Friday night game, Centenary seem certain to rack up another cricket score, this time at the expense of Holy Spirit.

Sunday's games should be interesting ones, with Easts taking on Arana at Scott Park, and Redlands journeying to Acacia Ridge to take on the Magpies. Arana, fresh from their narrow victory over the defending premiers, will not want to take the Tigers lightly, as the Easts side seems to be improving steadily as the season progresses. Arana will be hoping to welcome back Brisbane U13 centre Mitchell Carr who broke his collarbone at sign-on day (!).
Redlands will be looking to get back on the winners board against the impressive Magpie outfit - this should certainly be an entertaining affair with both sides capable of playing great attacking football.

Hope everyone enjoys their footy this weekend!
