2002 BJRL U14A Round 20 Preview
SLACKS CK v LOGAN BROS: Friday August 16 7.00pm at Usher Park
First Round: Logan Bros 40 def Slacks Ck 4 Second Round: Logan Bros 52 def Slacks Ck 6
Head to Head 2001/2: Logan Bros 2 Slacks Ck 0
Last 3 Rounds: Slacks Ck: Souths L 14-24; Easts W 18-16; Arana L 18-30
                        Logan Bros: Arana W 30-18; Redcliffe W 32-14;  Centenary W 30-16
Logan Bros look to be back to their best and should be a little too big and fast for the improved Slacks Creek combination. Both teams will be drained by hard-fought Wedneday night encounters, and it is hard to see Logan getting beaten in this one with third place on the line.
"The Computer" tips Logan Brothers by 26.

EASTS v ARANA: Friday August 16 7.15pm at Scott Park
First Rnd: Arana 26 def Easts 10  Second Rnd: Arana 34 def Easts 4
Head to Head 2001/2: Arana 2 Easts 0
Last 3 Rounds: Easts: Redlands L 4-60; Slacks Ck L 16-18; Redcliffe L 10-30
                        Arana: Logan Bros L 18-30; Souths W 58-16; Slacks Ck W 30-18
Arana's ball handling let them down against Logan Bros, and they will be looking to inprove on this against a Tigers team which has been down on form in the last couple of weeks. A win in this game would guarantee Arana a top three finish, so they will be looking to wrap up these 2 points to avoid a make-or-break clash with Centenary in the last round.

CENTENARY v SOUTHS: Friday August 16 8.30pm at Ipswich Rd
First Round: Souths 36 def Centenary 6   Second Round: Centenary 38 def Souths 30
Head to Head 2001/2: Centenary 1 Souths 1
Last 3 Rounds:  Centenary: Redcliffe L 12-38; Redlands L 6-30; Logan Bros L 16-30
                        Souths: Slacks Ck W 24-14; Arana L 16-58; Redlands L 16-18
After winning seven straight, Centenary have "hit the wall" losing their last three and will be desperate to get back to some winning form before the semis. Souths are locked in a struggle with Redcliffe for the final semi spot, and it is hard to draw a line throught their form, with them having sneaked away with the points against Slacks Creek, been thrashed by Arana the week before but pushing Redlands all the way the week before that. The last game between the sides was a beauty with only the goalkicking of Tim Mc making the difference, and this one should be another ripper - "The Computer" can't even separate them and has tipped a draw for the first time this season!!!
"The Computer" tips a DRAW.

REDCLIFFE v REDLANDS: Sunday August 18 10.30am at Dolphin
First Round: Redlands 22 def Redcliffe 12  Second Round: Redlands 44 def Redcliffe 0
Head to Head 2001/2: Redlands 7 Redcliffe 1
Last 3 Rounds: Redcliffe: Centenary W 38-12; Logan Bros L 14-32; Easts W 30-10
                        Redlands: Easts W 60-4; Centenary W 30-6; Souths W 16-12
Redlands hammered Redcliffe 44-0 the last time these two met, but Redcliffe are much improved since then and should push the competition leaders a lot harder this time around. Redcliffe turned in an amazing second half against Centenary and will be looking to carry this form forward into Sunday's game. They had their opportunites against Logan Bros last Sunday but poor handling close to the line cost them dearly - they will not be able to let similar opprtunities skip against Redlands.  Redlands appear to be hitting form at the right end of the season and will be keen to win to lock up the minor premiership.
"The Computer" tips Redlands by 18.

Hope you all enjoy the penultimate round of the season!
