Arana Under 14s  Off Season / First Training Run & Game

OFF SEASON ACTIVITIES:  Brendan A, Tim C and James P (barely) survived the QRL Camp at Gatton and are raring to go in 2002 - 13 hours of training a day has done them wonders! Alex T has returned from the USA armed with some secret NFL moves to try out this year - no forward passes please! Congratulations to Mitchell C for his representative cricket exploits as well.

FIRST TRAINING RUN: The first training run for the new season has been completed, and left coaches John and Wayne with smiles on their faces, despite the unfortunate absence of Mitchell Carr who will be out for around 8 weeks with a broken collarbone. There was a very impressive turnout with some potential new signings looking good - competition for spots in the A's is certainly going to be hot. We welcome our new friends to the club, and hope they decide to become permanent panthers!!  Brent's runaway try was the highlight of the evening - what has he been up to in the off-season - sprint training by a prop????

FIRST GAME: Well the first game for the season is behind us, with a composite team going down 6 tries to 2 to Souths at Arana. The opportunity was used to give all the new signings a run, and 9 players from last year's 13A's were rested. Souths looked good with the addition of Junior this year giving them more options in attack, taking some pressure off Mase. There were some fine performances from the Arana boys and now the tough job of splitting up the squad begins in earnest in readiness for next week's games v Redcliffe. Squads will be announced on Tuesday night.
