Round 19 opens with the match of the round betwenn leaders Redlands and third place Centenary. Centenary slumped to their first defeat in 8 matches last weekend, while Redlands made it 6 wins in a row when they squeked home against the Magpies. This should be a great battle between two teams that provided 13 of Brisbane's state champion team. The teams are 1-1 this year and this could go either way.

ARANA v SOUTHS: Friday August 9 8.15pm at Dawson Pde
First Rnd: Arana 36 def Souths 12 Second Rnd: Arana 28 def Souths 22
Head to Head 2001/2: Arana 4 Souths 1
Last 3 Rounds: Arana: Slacks Ck W 30-18; Redcliffe W 28-10; Redcliffe L 6-20
Souths: Redlands L 12-16; Easts W 34-10; Easts W 30-22
Souths have tightened up their defence in the last 2 weeks, and showed in their narrow loss to Redlands that they are getting back to form. Arana struggled to put away Slacks Ck last week after a fine performance against Redcliffe, and they won't be able to "switch off" against the Magpies - both teams have plenty at stake - should be a very entertaining match.

EASTS v SLACKS CK: Friday August 9 8.30pm at Scott Park
First Round: Easts 36 def Slacks Ck 20 Second Round: Easts 24 def Slacks Ck 4
Head to Head 2001/2: Easts 5 Slacks Ck 3
Last 3 Rounds: Easts: Redcliffe L 10-30; Souths L 10-34; Souths L 22-30
Slacks Ck: Arana L 18-30; Centenary L 16-22; Centenary L 10-56
Slacks Ck have been the real surprises of the last 2 weeks and will be looking to this match to post their first win since the competition was reduced to 8 teams. Easts have been disappointing in the last 2 weeks and will need to improve to put away the Lions. The Computer has tipped the Tigers but a Slacks Ck win would not surprise.

LOGAN BROS v REDCLIFFE: Sunday August 11 11.15am at Civic Pk
First Round: Redcliffe 22 def Logan Bros 10 Second Round: Logan Bros 22 def Redcliffe 14
Head to Head 2001/2: Redcliffe 4 Logan Bros 1
Last 3 Rounds: Logan Bros: Centenary W 30-16; Redlands L 22-26; Redlands L 16-44
Redcliffe: Easts W 30-10; Arana L 10-28; Arana W 20-6
Logan Bros are assured of a place in the five, but would still hold hopes of breaking into the top 3 and a win here is a must to do this. Redcliffe are locked in a desperate battle with Souths for fifth spot and they need a win to keep their hopes alive. Both side have strong, physical forward packs who will be looking to gain the ascendancy - sould be a tough encounter.
"The Computer" tips Logan Bros by 6.
Enjoy another great weekend of footy!
