2002 BJRL U14A Round 12 Preview
Round 12 will be split over June 14 and June 19 due to the Brisbane team camp on Stradbroke Island this weekend:

SLACKS CREEK v EASTS: Friday June 14 7.15pm at Usher Park
First Round Result: Easts 40 def Slacks Creek 24   Head to Head 2001/2: Easts 4 Slacks Creek 3
Last 3 Rounds:  Slacks Ck: Redcliffe L 10-44; Arana L 6-68; Redcliffe lost on forfeit
                        Easts: Centenary L 0-44; Redcliffe W 16-14; Centenary L 12-30
These two teams had a series of great battles last year, culminating in a 30-28 Grand Final win to Easts. The Tigers have handled the step up in a grade a little better than the Lions this year and had a comfortable victory in the first round. They were disappointing against Centenary last week however and the Creek boys will be looking at this game as an opportunity to even up the "head-to-head" stats again. Should be an interesting battle.

REDCLIFFE v LOGAN BROTHERS: Wed June 19 7.00pm at Dolphin Junior
First Round Result: Redcliffe 22 def Logan Bros 10  Head to Head 2001/2: Redcliffe 4 L.B. 0
Last 3 Rounds:  Redcliffe:  Slacks Ck W 44-10; Easts L 14-16; Slacks Ck won on forfeit
                        Logan Bros: Souths W 46-30; Centenary W 24-12; Souths W 46-28
Logan Bros haven't lost a game since April and will be looking to extend their winning run against the Dolphins, who they have never beaten. Redcliffe turned in a superb defensive display in the first round encounter between these two sides, and will have to be at their best in this area again this week to control the Logan side, who racked up 36 unanswered points to open the second half against Souths last weekend. Both sides have big forward packs and the clash up front should be very entertaining.

CENTENARY v REDLANDS: Wednesday June 19 7.00pm at Ipswich Rd
First Round Result: Redlands 26 def Centenary 10  Head to Head 2001/2: Redlands 1 Cent. 0
Last 3 Rounds: Centenary: Easts W 44-0; Logan Bros L 12-24; Easts W 30-12
                        Redlands: Arana W 26-10; Souths W 36-18; Arana L 23-24
Redlands have bounced back to their best form in the last two weeks to reaffirm their premiership favouritism and will travel to Centenary confident of a good showing. With thirteen Brisbane players on display this should be a skilful encounter which may be decided by the depth of the teams, with Centenary having struggled in that area in the season to date. However they will be ultra-keen to win at home and an upset is not out of the question.

SOUTHS v ARANA: Wednesday June 19 12.45pm at Scott Park
First Round Result: Arana 36 def Souths 12  Head to Head 2001/2: Arana 3 Souths 1
Last 3 Rounds: Arana: Redlands L 10-26; Slacks Ck W 68-6; Redlands W 24-23
                      Souths: Logan Bros 30-46; Redlands L 18-36; Logan Bros L 28-46
This game is being played at Scott Park due to Souths not having playing lights at Brandon Park. Souths have been hot and cold since their first round loss to Arana, firstly winning four in a row then subsequently losing their last three in succession. They will be desperate to arrest this trend against the Panthers who will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing Chairman's Trophy loss to Redlands. Arana played arguably their best game of the season against Souths in the first round (ironically at another "neutral" venue, Mitchelton) and will be looking to perform as well this week to get back on the winners list. Both teams play an entertaining brand of football and this should be a great game to watch.

May everyone enjoy an injury free round!!!
