2002 BJRL U14A Round 11 Preview
Round 11 coming up this weekend with one game Friday night and 3 on Sunday (home team listed first):

REDLANDS v SOUTHS: Friday May 31 7.00pm at Pinklands
First Round Result: Redlands 38 def Souths 30   Head to Head 2001/2: Redlands 4 Souths 0
Last 3 Rounds:  Redlands: Arana L 23-24; Logan Bros L 18-20; Easts W 34-12
                        Souths: Logan Bros L 28-46; Easts W 34-18; Slacks Ck W 30-12
A very important game this one, as the loser could very well find themselves in fifth spot come Sunday afternoon with the winner staying in second. Both teams are coming off losses, although Redlands was a very narrow one; this is the first time in 2 years Redlands have lost 2 straight and will be desperate to not make it three. Souths have "come off the boil" in the last couple of weeks after big wins over Redcliffe and Centenary and will be looking to regain that form and break their "duck" of wins against the Parakeets - promises to be a great start to the weekend's football.

REDCLIFFE v EASTS: Sunday June 2 11.45am at Dolphin Junior
First Round Result: Redcliffe 14 def Easts 12  Head to Head 2001/2: Redcliffe 1 Easts 0
Last 3 Rounds:  Redcliffe:  Slacks Ck WOF; Arana W 20-18; Centenary L 20-22
                        Easts: Centenary L 12-30; Souths L 18-34; Redlands L 12-34
Easts were desperately unlucky to lose the first round clash, with Redcliffe scoring a controversial try in the last minute to snatch victory. The Tigers again travel to Dolphin this round with revenge on their mind, but Redcliffe are starting to hit their straps, with a win over the competition leaders Arana on their last outing. The week off due to the forfeit was probably not what Redcliffe wanted, and they will be looking at wrapping this match up a lot sooner than they did the first time around.

LOGAN BROS v CENTENARY: Sunday June 2 12.15pm at Civic Park
First Round Result: Centenary 34 def Logan Bros 28  Head to Head 2001/2: Cent. 1 Logan B. 0
Last 3 Rounds: Logan Bros: Souths W 46-28; Redlands W 20-18; Bye
                        Centenary: Easts W 30-12; Slacks Ck W 32-6; Redcliffe W 22-20
Civic Park will be no place for the feint-hearted on Sunday when these two in-form teams come together! The Brethren smashed through Souths last Sunday, and Centenary were no less tough on Easts, and the battle "up front" could well decide this one. Centenary triumphed by a converted try in the first round, but Logan Bros (who with a win will be at worst equal 5th for the first time this year) are a different side to then and will be looking for revenge on their home turf - stand clear!!!

ARANA v SLACKS CK: Sunday June 2 12.45pm at Dawson Pde
First Round Result: Arana 38 def Slacks Ck 10  Head to Head 2001/2: Arana 1 Slacks Ck 0
Last 3 Rounds: Arana: Redlands W 24-23; Redcliffe L 18-20; Bye
Slacks Ck: Redcliffe LOF; Centenary L 6-32; Souths L 12-30
The first round match between these two sides was played in appalling weather at Usher Park, so it is hoped the sun will shine this weekend! Slacks Creek were forced to forfeit due to injuries and illness last week and their players should have had time to heal for this one. Arana will not be taking it easy however, and will be looking to maintain their cushion at the top of the table. The probable return of Rohan from injury is an added bonus for the Panthers.

The Webmaster returns from his overseas stint this week (for good!) and looks forward to seeing some great action!
